If Only

If we could face Yesterday
with Today's experience
we would invite
daily, divine miracles.

For we are only treading water,
trying to move forward
while constantly forced downward.

If only we could truly understand,
and fully use our experiences
instead of being weighed down by them,
using them as weapons against demons,
demons we have not yet met.

We can make the choice
to whip or be whipped by our past.

But by looking to Tomorrow,
we can face Yesterday
with Today's experience.
